New tea. The start of the tea season.
Summer is approaching, the 88th night... ・ ・. 88 days since the beginning of spring.
The tea season has finally begun in Uji.
When this season comes around, I feel like another year has begun, just like New Year's Day.
The taste and aroma of tea changes every year.
There are so many things to be curious about, such as the color, the texture, the steaming and heating, and so on, that a mixture of anxiety and anticipation can come into play.
It's difficult to put into words, and frustrating, but there are very few new teas that have an aroma and flavor that makes you slap your knee and say, "This is new tea!"
It has a scent that can only be found at this time of year, a combination of the slightly cool, refreshing breeze blowing through the mountains and trees, and the sound of a babbling brook.
Now, the tea season begins.
